District Support Team

The District Grand Master and his Executive have put in place a support team to assist and aid Councils throughout the District. The purpose of the Support Team is to provide experienced companions so that a Council is able to perform the required ceremonial work in situations where the Council anticipates that it will not have sufficient members present to carry out its scheduled ceremony.
The District Support Team is formed from a group of volunteers – all competent and enthusiastic ritualists – ready, willing and able to respond to fill particular offices – guided and managed by a Support Team Manager. The Support Team has volunteers from across the District so that travelling is kept to a minimum.
Support Team Volunteers
The District Support Team seeks Volunteers who have an interest in taking part in the Ceremonies. The Support Team Manager would be very pleased to hear from any Companion, whatever his rank, who is willing to participate and be of service to our District.
Councils requiring assistance
When a Council realises they need assistance for a particular ceremony at their next meeting, the Recorder or Director of Ceremonies should make contact with the Support Team Manager via supportteam@rsm-sussex.org.uk clearly stating the help require (Ceremony; Offices to be covered; date, time, place of meeting etc.) giving as much notice as possible (ideally at least two weeks). A summons and dining details should be attached to the email. The Support Team Manager will respond as quickly as possible after he has received replies from the Team.
With the assistance of the Support Team it is hoped that candidates will receive a ceremony to remember leaving them to enjoy the Order and promote membership through their brethren and companions.
